The Garden
St Patrick's day march with Ms 18 in the Perth Metro Pipe Band playing tenor drum so we did the drop off and then had breakfast, waiting for them to march on by. We had an outside table, on a beautiful morning, to watch the world go by. Coffee first, that wasn't as great as we hoped, followed by some refreshing juice before some great eggs (my way) with bacon. I had my eggs poached and he had his scrambled. I had a delicious side of Spanish beans. I'd go back just for the beans. Another round of coffee that was much better, really hit the spot just as the march commenced. A lovely way to spend Sunday morning. |
Isabella's cottage cafe
Simple food made fast, served fresh and perfect for a post surf boost. This place claims to have to best coffee in Lancelin and it wasn't bad at all. We called in for a bacon, egg and cheese muffin and weren't disappointed. The boys had banana milkshakes and we had coffee. Nothing to complain about except the boys said their milkshakes seemed to have a hole in the cup ... Try it out if you're in heaven (Lancelin) any time soon. |
Breakfast in a cafe in Shinjuku - Tokyo, Japan
The breakfast really wasn't that interesting but the sign reminds me of the crazy interpretation of English that we saw all over Japan. I guess they're trying to say that they coffee and breaky in the morning and pasta with a house brew in the evenings, or if you prefer, whiskey or a cocktail in the evening with tapas light into the night. Who cares, the sign is delightful. |
The Tuck Shop
20th December 2015 5/5 Found the Tuck Shop tucked away in Northbridge on the corner of Money Street. I wish I lived on Money Street. But I digress. The smell of breakfast cooking is amazing and certainly makes choosing hard. I wanted what she was having and thought about what he was having but ended up having beans. My old favourite. He had black pudding and tomato with a side of bacon. Quite boring sounding but fabulously presented and totally delicious. We also had juice, orange for me and apple with lemon and ginger for him. Coffee of course, to complete the picture and we won't need to eat all day now. I think the 5 is worthy and so I concur with everyone else! A top little treat before we go our separate ways for Christmas. |
The Panke - Victoria Park
November 2015 4/5 If you've got kids or you just like to have a bit of fun go here! You can choose from the menu or make your own on the hot plate recessed into your table. The pancakes are great either way. The service is good and the setting is fun. The coffee is just ok but you're not there for coffee. Give it a try |
Toast - East Perth
11th November 4.5/5 Birthday breakfast before work on a week day with the children, thanks to the birthday fairy. This is a super location and we sat outside in the early morning sun. The jacaranda blooms around the bay make for a very pretty spot. The vegetarian daughter was happy with her corn fritters, eggs and avo. Always good to have happy kids on your birthday. Next time we might ride our bikes there ... |
